## Security

Tamery encrypts every connection string at rest with a per-user key. When you save a connection, you choose how its password is handled:

* **Cloud (with password)** — full connection string, including the password, is encrypted and synced to every device.
* **Cloud (without password)** — only metadata (host, port, database, username) syncs; the password stays on the device where you enter it.

Both modes sync the connection across devices. See [Security](/connections/security) for details.
